About the job 

 

ReGen Homes is looking for an experienced construction manager excited to take on more leadership as a member of a young company focused on building quality multi-family homes, leading in sustainable building practices that will better serve our future.     

 

The Construction Manager will supervise all aspects of construction for ReGens inaugural project, a zero emissions 8-unit townhome site, during the build phase. Following this project, your role will be dedicated to Construction Management of all projects. Additionally, the Construction Manager will be available to advise on other projects as they go through the development process. This role is critical to the success of ReGen Homes, and integral to our continued growth. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years experience managing multifamily residential construction sites and a passion for sustainable building.


 

Role & Responsibilities

 

ReGens Construction Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget and requirements, and comply with all regulatory, environmental and health and safety requirements; responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

 

  • Develop, maintain and present project schedules and construction budgets; ensure project stays on target and provide regular updates

  • Prepare, negotiate and manage contracts with all trades

  • Communicate with municipal building department, including submission of permits and coordinating inspections

  • Manage labour and trades efficiently to reduce cost overruns; tracks costs against project budget

  • Ensure subcontractors are performing the scope of work outlined in their contract

  • Ensure all material and work is carried out as per industry standards and ReGens Operational Standards 

  • Uphold excellent Site Safety; insure all WorkSafe regulations are met

  • Site supervision of 8-unit townhouse project: plan, direct and monitor daily site activities, ensure proper documentation is recorded and filed for all aspects of the project

  • Develop and complete checklists for all key phases of the build

  • Prepare progress reports and provide regular updates 

  • Review project drawings and blueprints and provide valuable engineering input to the project team; find coordination issues and suggest improvements

  • Keep abreast of and research new construction techniques and materials; assess technical and cost benefits of alternative materials and methods

 

Key Competencies

  • Prior multifamily construction management experience with a track record of successful projects

  • Exceptionally organized, detail oriented

  • Self-directed decision maker

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Current Occupational First Aid ticket

 

Assets but not required:

  • Local trade relationships in Squamish

  • Degree, Diploma in Construction Management 

  • Experienced with building information modeling software


 

Compensation:  $100,000-$130,000, negotiable depending on experience
